Allegheny Coatings is an ISO 9001:2000 certified coating/plating company located in Ridgway, PA. It was formed in 1985 as part of Allegheny Chemical. Allegheny Coatings has been privately held since 1990. We are licensed to apply such coatings as Dacromet, Geomet, Magni, Dorken Delta MKS, Sermagard, RTM, Whitford Xylan, and Zintek.

Allegheny pioneered the usage of high performance coatings on powdered metal. With its Ridgway, PA plant location in the "heart" of powdered metal country, Allegheny has continued to provide innovative coating solutions to the powdered metal industry.

In response to customer demand, Allegheny opened facilities in Fremont, IN and Ingersoll, ON. Our facility works closely with OEMs and tier suppliers to the automotive market, including several key safety part projects. We have also developed a special process for coating automotive ball studs to prevent premature corrosion and boot seal wear.

On May 10th, 2006, Curtiss-Wright Corporation purchased the Fremont and Ingersoll plant locations from Allegheny Coatings. These two facilities are now operating as part of the Metal Improvement Corporation division of Curtiss-Wright.

With an eye to the future, we are expanding our offerings to non-automotive markets, including marine, agricultural, construction, military, LP and industrial gas tank/cylinder. We've also recently (May 1, 2005) opened our first zinc electroplating lines (barrel and rack, hexavalent and trivalent chromate). We expect to continue to grow with our customers, and provide coating application solutions to their varied needs.
